As more young adults consider their career options, a recent survey conducted by Wakefield Research on behalf of the SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association) revealed a growing interest and awareness of the value of skilled trade careers. According to the research, 89% of parents with children enrolled in high school or college believe that it’s smart for young adults to consider a skilled trade career. Furthermore, 86% of these parents would either support or actively encourage their children to consider pursuing a career in the trades.

This positive outlook highlights the increasing interest and awareness among parents of the potential benefits of careers in the trades, such as competitive wages, job stability and opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing job market.
